SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Police have arrested a woman in connection with her husband's death at a Sand Springs home Friday.
Sand Springs Police say the body of 42-year-old Jimmy Lee Weaver was found in a home in the 400 block of North Roosevelt Avenue about 1:20 a.m. Friday.
Weaver's wife, 44-year-old Deborah Weaver, was arrested Friday afternoon on a complaint of first-degree murder, Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter said.
Police believe she shot her husband during a domestic dispute, Carter said.
The initial call to 911 concerned a medical problem, but crews determined it was more upon arrival. Police were then dispatched to the scene.
Weaver was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the living room. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Weavers' children, ages 8 and 10, were not at home at the time of the incident. Police say both are with relatives.
Jimmy Weaver filed for divorce in June 2002, and it was granted a year later. In February 2008, the couple remarried.
Deborah Weaver was convicted of domestic assault and battery against her husband in December. She received a one-year suspended sentence.
Three protective orders were filed against her by Jimmy Weaver as recently as August. One was dismissed for a failure to prosecute, and another was withdrawn by her husband.
The third was granted, and Deborah Weaver was arrested for violating it.
While an arrest has been made in the homicide case, the investigation continues and many details are still unknown or are unable to be released, Carter said.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Sand Springs Police Department at (918) 246-2539.
