"It complete funds giving the dogs and cats medical care, food and shelter so it's a very important event for us."
It was also a chance for families and their pets to enjoy the day together. The no-kill shelter hosted the event which featured a pet walk, best trick contest and pet costume contest. There were also agility demonstrations alongside the Arkansas River.
Adoption center dogs were on hand for people to learn more about adopting or donating funds to the shelter. There were vendors and a special "paw painting" booth.
