OKLAHOMA CITY -- In a special meeting Saturday, the State Board of Medicolegal Investigations extended an offer for an interim chief medical examiner.
Dr. Andrew Sibley has been appointed as the Interim Chief Medical Examiner. The 48-year-old Sibley is a senior forensic pathologist who works in the Tulsa office. State Medical Examiner's office spokesperson Cherokee Ballard said the Arizona native has been with the M.E.'s office in Tulsa since September 2000.
"We needed someone who can take the reigns, and he's a great, solid pathologist," Ballard said.
The salary for the position is $200,000 a year.
The Medical Examiner's office has been without a Chief Medical Examiner after Eric Duval quit and Dr. Collie Trant was fired in February.
