NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The head of a 700-pound dinosaur statue in Norman has been returned after the statue was decapitated last week.
Norman resident Carl Wienecke found the head Tuesday while walking along Chautauqua Avenue.
"I didn't recognize it at first but when I picked it up took it under a street light, yeah, I saw it was a dinosaur head. And then I had heard about the dinosaur in the paper because it was like on the front page or something," Wienecke said.
The owners of Dino gave Wienecke a reward for the safe return of Dino's head.
The dinosaur has been Sinclair Oil Company's logo since 1930.
