Prison Inmate Missing From McAlester Prison

MCALESTER, OKLAHOMA -- Authorities are looking for an inmate who they believe escaped early Monday morning from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says Mark D. Smith Jr., 28, was reported missing at the 6 a.m. head count.

Smith has been in prison since 2009.

Smith was serving prison sentences out of Tulsa County for assault and battery on a police officer and larceny of an automobile.
