OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Salvation Army wants to make sure no one is left out in the cold with these low temperatures over the next few days by opening up more space at their shelter.
At the men's shelter located at S.W. 4th Street and Harvey Avenue, staff members arranged extra cots and mats to accommodate anyone who needs shelter. Since November, the shelter has stayed nearly 100 percent full.
"I don't fool myself. I know it's a blessing, and I am very thankful for people who are willing to put time and money towards people that they haven't even met yet," Ronald Johnson, who is staying at the shelter.
Normally, the shelter is only open at night, but since the temperatures are going to be below freezing during the day, clients will be allowed to stay.
