UNDATED -- Blizzard or blizzard-like conditions are forecasted for many parts of Oklahoma Tuesday.

So, what is a blizzard really?

According to the National Weather Service, a storm must meet the following three conditions to be considered a blizzard:

Wind- Sustained winds or frequent gusts of 35 MPH or greater.

Visibility- Considerable falling snow and/or blowing snow which will frequently reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less.

Time- The above must occur for at least 3 hours.

It doesn't have to be snowing to be considered a blizzard. With strong winds, already fallen snow can reduce visibility.
