MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -- Police have arrested a woman accused of using a diamond ring as a down payment for her husband's murder.
In court documents, the Oklahoma County District Attorney said 41-year-old Connie Callan tried to pay someone to kill her soon-to-be ex-husband.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Callan met with someone she thought was a hitman. But the "hitman" was actually an undercover officer with the Midwest City Police Department, who was working with a special task force from the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Police said Callan gave the undercover officer descriptions of her husband and his car, as well as his address. The undercover officer said Callan then gave him a diamond ring as a partial payment for the killing.
She was arrested January 27.
