In 2009, the city tore down the bridge over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks in downtown Tulsa.

The original bridge was built eight decades ago and since the mid-90's had been deemed too unsafe to keep open. It was first closed car and truck traffic, then a few years later, it was closed to foot traffic.
The bridge connects the city's downtown business district with the Brady Arts district.
Mayor Dewey Bartlett and representatives from the Brady Arts District will hold a news conference Wednesday at 10 a.m.
