TULSA, Oklahoma -- There's a whole lot of horsing around at Tulsa's Expo Square.

The National Appaloosa Show and World Championship is in town, bringing in horses and owners from all around the country. The excitement began Monday, July 4th and competition runs through July 16.

Younger riders compete the first week and adults compete the second.

Spectators will see all kind of action, everything from cutting and jumping to horse-against-horse races.

"Every breed says they have great discipline and temperament in their horses, but we certainly believe ours are about as friendly as they can get. Honestly we've already seen some great examples this week of kids and horses with a pretty special bond," said Steve Taylor, CEO Appaloosa Horse Club.

This is the longest-running, single-breed horse show in the United States.  Admission is free.
