STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- After sitting out during Oklahoma State's win over Louisiana Saturday, Oklahoma State confirmed Tuesday that safety Johhny Thomas has been ruled ineligible for the 2011 season.
The senior safety was listed atop the depth chart for the season opener a week ago, after starting 11 of the Cowboys' 13 games in 2010, including the final nine games. However, he sat the entire game against the Ragin' Cajuns and is not listed on the depth chart for Thursday's game against Arizona.
Sophomore safety Daytawion Lowe will now step in to fill the role, being called into action against Louisiana, accounting for six total tackles in the win.
