Oklahoma City Police Officer Arrested For DUI

An Oklahoma City police officer was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in McIntosh County, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 1.

Sergeant Benjamin Nikkel, a nine-year veteran with the Oklahoma City Police Department, was involved in a one-vehicle crash Thursday. He was off-duty at that time.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the crash. Troopers determined Nikkel was driving under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.

Nikkel has been placed on paid administrative leave as authorities investigate the incident.
