OKLAHOMA CITY - An Oklahoma City woman says something happened to her Tuesday night while she was housesitting that she will never forget.
Casey Joseph says the falling hail crashed through a skylight in the house. The falling hail and glass struck her in the head. She says she called 911, and was treated by paramedics.
"I heard the hail and the rain and the wind, and so I went to the front door to the porch like any other Oklahoman to see what was going on," She said.
But Joseph says that storm was like nothing she'd seen before, so she turned around and scurried back inside. But before she knew it, there was a loud crashing noise. A big piece of hail crashed through a lone skylight in her friend's living room. Some of the debris landed on her head.
"I kind of lost track of time when it was all going down," said Joseph.
Joseph didn't realize what happened until a short time later when she went to the bathroom because she says her hair felt wet. But there was more than just water in her hair, there was also blood.
Joseph called 911 and paramedics treated her. Fortunately the paramedics determined she wouldn't have to go to the hospital.
"[Next time I'll] pay a little more attention to what's going on around me in a storm. But who would have known? Right when that happened."
Joseph says workers have covered up the skylight with a tarp. She says the friend she was housesitting for is just glad she's OK.
