Department Of Corrections Identifies Tulsa Inmate Who Died After Cell Fire

Smoke was seen coming from his cell on Saturday. Julius Parker was rushed to the hospital where he died.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections has identified an inmate who died at a McAlester hospital after setting a fire in his cell at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary.

DOC says the inmate was 26-year-old Julius Parker of Tulsa.

He was serving a 2005 sentence out of Tulsa County on a robbery with firearm conviction.

Smoke was seen coming from his cell on Saturday. Parker was then rushed to the hospital where he died.
