Tulsa Public Schools opened a new athletic center in midtown Tuesday.
Edison opened its $11 million basketball court. The entire building is more than 50,000 sq. ft.
Most of the space is for basketball, but there are also several locker rooms for other sports, a concession area, and a "spirit" store.
"This is an incredible resource for our community," Principal Derrick Schmidt. "Primarily, it's a basketball arena, but we're also going to have a wrestling venue here, we can also have volleyball matches here."
The new building is part of a 2010 bond issue.
It took a year and a half to build.
