Country music star Miranda Lambert says her husband inspired her to open a new store in Tishomingo.
Lambert opened Pink Pistol on Friday. The name was inspired by her all-female band Pistol Annies, but the idea came from her husband, fellow country music star and Oklahoma native, Blake Shelton.
"The store itself came from my husband," said Lambert. "He encouraged me to open it. I love to make things."
Pink Pistol sells a variety of items from antiques to boots to jewelry. Although Lambert is a Texas native, she calls Tishomingo her second hometown.
"Everyone in this town has gotten behind me and everyone has decorated their windows in pink," said Lambert. "Everyone gets to see how Blake and I live when we aren't on tour."
Lambert says she hopes to make "Pink Friday" an annual, day-after-Thanksgiving event.
