Firefighters are trying to figure out how an old school building in northwest Oklahoma City caught on fire Saturday night.

Firefighters are trying to figure out how an old school building in northwest Oklahoma City caught on fire Saturday night.

According to the fire department, crews responded to the fire at the old John Marshall High School, located at 9017 N. University Ave. in Oklahoma City. Officials say the fire sparked on the second floor of the building.

The school has been abandoned for years, but homeless people have used the place to seek shelter from the cold.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
