A man was shot dead inside a Southwest Oklahoma City home. Now, police are on the hunt for the person or persons responsible, while neighbors try to figure out what happened.

At first, neighbors thought it was the man who lives inside that corner house that was shot. Turns out it was not him, but a friend who was staying at the house.

Neighbors here in the Southern Oaks Neighborhood tell us this is a normally quiet neighborhood, filled with families and older people who have lived here for years.

But then about three years ago, a new person moved into this home.

"Well we've had a lot of problems with that house down there we've had police out here quite a few times," said Velma Knowlton, who lives just down the street. She says she and her neighbors had their concerns about the corner house at S.W. 69th and Shartel for a while now.

Even though there are no trespassing signs posted out front, neighbors say there was a lot of people going in and out of that house at all hours of the night.

"I don't know whether there was drugs going on or not," said Knowlton. "But the neighborhood felt like there were drugs going on so."

Police confirm there were a total of 20 calls to this house in the past three years, including Tuesday morning's shooting call.

Police say they have identified the man who was shot and killed, but are not releasing his name until they can notify his family.

Oklahoma City police could use your help in solving this murder. If you have any information, or saw what happened, you are urged to call the homicide tip line at (405)-297-1200.
