Tulsa Fire Department gained 29 new members, Friday.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett and Fire Chief Ray Driskell presided over the ceremony, where the latest graduating class from the Tulsa Fire Academy was sworn in.

The ceremony was held at the Tulsa Convention Center Friday afternoon.

Cadets say it's been a hard five months of training, but it was worth it to become a firefighter.

"You're often gonna be helping people whenever they're having the worst possible day imaginable, and you know it's good to be that servant to others whenever they can't help themselves," said graduating cadet Andrew Smith.

Counting this class of 29, Tulsa Fire Department now has 673 members.
