A firefighter was injured Wednesday morning while fighting a house fire in the midst of a violent storm.
Tulsa Fire said the occupants of the home at 83rd and Quebec heard a loud boom, like lightning had struck their house. When they smelled smoke, they got out of the house without anyone being injured and called 911.
The district fire chief said the biggest obstacle in fighting the fire was that many of their companies were spread out all over town, responding to fires and storm damage, and debris from the storm made it difficult to get to there quickly.
TFD said one firefighter was on the roof of the house with a chainsaw, when it jumped back and cut three of his fingers. The district chief said that firefighter may require some stitches, but would be fine.
