Contrary to a post by the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Tulsa Police say the 2-year-old Tulsa boy at the center of Wednesday's Amber Alert has not been found and his father is not in custody.

The Okmulgee County Undersheriff told News On 6 he received information from the Department of Public Safety that the boy was found, but that it didn't happen in Okmulgee County.

Tulsa Police say that is not true, and the Amber Alert is still active.

The Okmulgee Sheriff's Office has since corrected that posting.

Tulsa police say Jason Taylor was taken from the 5600 block of East 71st Place at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, by his father, William Corey Taylor.

Police say Corey Taylor has a history of violence and mental illness.

Court records show a protective order was sworn out against William Corey Taylor earlier this year on behalf of Jason and his 4-year-old sister. The order notes that Taylor has the tattoo of a black and red gun on his left forearm.

Taylor is 5-foot-2, 175 pounds with brown hair, a blonde beard and blue eyes.

Police say Jason Taylor was wearing a blue Batman shirt and a diaper.

They are looking for a 2004 black Chevy Tahoe, with Oklahoma tag 965AJK.

If you have any information on their whereabouts, call 911.

We'll bring you more on this developing story as we learn more.
