Tulsa police, acting on a homicide tip, were caught up in a chase through Tulsa on Sunday evening.

Police said they were tailing George July, 48, to see if he would lead them to a body. As they were following him, he took off, eventually crashing at Norfolk and Peoria and downing a power line.

Officers said July had a gun on them, but they were able to take him into custody. Another man ran into a house in the 1800 block of North Trenton.

As officers cleared the home they found a body.  Police said the victim's name has not been released.

Both July and the other man, John Hunter, 68, were arrested.

George July was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of first degree murder, possession of a firearm after conviction of a felony and possession of a controlled drug.   Hunter was booked on a complaint of accessory to first degree murder.

Police are working with the U.S. Marshals.

They're interviewing several suspects, but say they're having a hard time getting anyone to talk.

Police are asking if anyone has information about this murder or the victim to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS or text 918TIP to "Crimes."
