A dog had to jump off a highway bridge in Moore to avoid being hit by a semi-truck. And now, the pup is recovering and looking for a forever home.
According to officials with Moore Animal Welfare, the dog was crossing I-35 at N.W. 5th Street in Moore when it had to jump from the highway to avoid being hit by a semi.
A citizen witnessed the incident, and contacted animal welfare employees. A local Veterinarian offered to treat the dog's injuries.
Now, animal welfare officials say they want to make sure the dog finds a good home and receives the proper care needed to make a full recovery.
Moore Pawsabilites, a volunteer group for the City of Moore Animal Shelter, is trying to raise money to pay for a plate in the dog's right rear leg. A donation site has been set up. Learn more about how you can donate.
If you would like to adopt this dog, contact the animal welfare office at (405)-793-5190.
