We're introducing you to another member of the News On 6 team today. We've started this new feature on NewsOn6.com so you can get to know the people who bring you the news every day.
Next up is anchor Dave Davis. You know Dave as a reporter working for 6 in the Morning, where he covers all kinds of stories and also awards the Tulsa Tech Spirit Stick every Friday during high school football season. As of Monday, Dave is also co-anchoring News On 6 at Noon.
1. What was your first job in television news?
For my first job in TV was as a Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter in San Angelo, Texas. I packed whatever I could take in my car and made a 1,300-mile road trip - with my sister - from my home state of Ohio to Texas. I was there for a year and half until I made the move to Tulsa in November 2010.
2. You have 15 minutes of free time, what do you do?
If I have 15 minutes of free time, I'm probably calling friends and family back home to catch up.
3. What's in the console of your car?
Right now, it's pretty bare. There's just an aux audio cable for my iPod.
4. What's your hidden talent?
I've been playing piano for almost 20 years.
5. What was your high school mascot?
I was senior class president at Mansfield Christian High School in Mansfield, Ohio. Our mascot is the Flames. We nicknamed our gym "The Furnace". For my first two years of high school, I wanted to be a History teacher. My junior year is when I decided I wanted to go into television.
6. How would you describe Tulsa to someone who's never been here?
There are always things to do around town, the people are great, and a great place for families! It's also a great place to meet your wife...that's what happened to me!
