The Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the remains of six individuals that were recovered last year from two vehicles in Foss Lake.
Officials said two vehicles were recovered on Sept. 17, 2013 from Foss Lake by Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers during a sonar training exercise.

According to the OCME, the bodies recovered from the 1952 Chevrolet have been identified as John Alva Porter, 69, of Elk City; Cleburn Hammack, 42, of Sayre and Nora Marie Duncan, 58, of Canute. The OCME said the bodies recovered from the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro have been identified as Jimmy Allen Williams, 16, Leah Gail Johnson, 18, and Thomas Michael Rios, 18, all from Sayre.

The OCME said investigators worked with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System to obtain missing person case information and facilitate DNA testing at the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas, which lead to the identification of the six individuals.

The OCME reported the cause of death for all six cases as “probably drowning” and the manner of death as “accident.”
