Remember when Central Library was at the corner of Fourth and Denver downtown?

Well, it will be again someday, but that day may not come for another year or more.

But, Tuesday the library folks staged a little event, the demolition of the sign, as a way to give us a chance to talk about the current construction project.

Project Manager, Mike Leitch said all the tearing out has been completed and what the crew is doing now is putting the duct work together for the heat and air system.

Inside, in addition to working on heating and air, they are converting the old basement from mostly storage into more usable space.

Outside, crews are beginning construction of a multi-story parking garage for library patrons.

Tuesday was all about one more demolition project, getting rid of the old sign.

Workers from Ark Wrecking cut it loose from the posts and gently lowered it to the ground.
