The Tulsa Fire Department broke in the new training facility at Tulsa Community College's northeast campus Wednesday.
The firefighters spent part of the day practicing high-rise rescues.
Dangling several stories off the ground, the firefighters honed their skills getting themselves and a rescue basket to hard to reach places.
The exercise is the first at the state-of-the-art training center since it was dedicated on July 10. The facility cost nearly $16-million and offers specialized training that's not available anywhere else in Oklahoma.
Along with providing firefighters an unparallelled practice area, it gives TCC students studying Fire and Emergency Services a place to learn.
