Broken Arrow Police arrested a 23-year-old man after firefighters took his infant daughter to a Tulsa hospital with multiple skull and rib fractures as well as internal bleeding.
Firefighters were called to a home in the 4400 block of West Oakland just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday about an unresponsive four-month-old. At the hospital, the victim's mother told police she heard the infant screaming and witnessed Kenneth Knox raise his hand and strike the infant.
When questioned, Knox said did not know how the child had been injured, but told police he believed the baby's maternal grandfather or the couple's two four-year-old sons may have caused the injuries.
The victim's mother said she also observed bruising on the infant's back and buttocks several days prior to Saturday's incident. Doctors said those bruises were consistent with a child who had been shaken or been in a car crash.
Kenneth Knox was arrested a complaint of child abuse by injury and booked into the Tulsa County jail. Jail records show Knox is being held on a $50,000 bond with a court appearance set for November 10.
