Several hundred items were up for sale Saturday at the City of Tulsa's bi-annual surplus auction. Winning bidders had a chance to drive away with a used police car or pick up some office furniture.
Just about any item imaginable owned by the city and deemed surplus was auctioned off at the City of Tulsa Surplus Auction. Anything from an outdoor storm siren, a bulldozer, retired police car, a desk chair or filing cabinet is up for auction.
All bidders had to do was show up, register and bid.

You could pay cash, credit card, get a certified bank check and walk off with the item. About a million dollars was raised last May because of the surplus auction.
The city has two of these every year in November and May.
They told me those storms sirens could get bought up by an equipment re-seller where they refurbish them and sell them to another municipality. With the bulldozer, people could buy those bulldozers and use them for whatever they want as long as they pay for it.
