Another February day with highs rising to near record values!
OKC's record high is 84 degrees set in 1981, so while News 9’s Meteorologist Matt Mahler doesn’t think we break it, we will certainly get close. Winds will shift from south to north Saturday afternoon as a weak front moves south across the state.
Fire danger will remain high, especially across central and western Oklahoma Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday, we'll have cooler temps but a lot more wind. Each day this weekend we're missing those "extreme" fire conditions. However, while we're still dry, the fire danger will exist.
Rain chances on Sunday will stay in far eastern, southern, and southeastern Oklahoma.
There will be big changes in the upcoming week with a cold, wet storm system that arrives in Oklahoma on Tuesday. News 9’s Matt Mahler sees a lot of rain for the state with the possibility of winter precipitation in western and northwestern Oklahoma.
More to come on that! Stay tuned!
