Tulsa Police charged a man with child abuse murder in the death of a 2-year-old boy.
Last week prosecutors charged 30-year-old Branden Taylor with child abuse, but prosecutors said after they reviewed the case they decided to amend the charge.
Police say the 2-year-old boy had significant head injuries that were non-accidental and “too extensive to be reasonable in force used.”
According to reports, when Taylor was questioned by police, he said the boy bit him so he kicked the child in the head, knocking the boy out cold.

Police said the child’s mother, Taylor’s girlfriend, called 911 and told dispatchers her son was dead.
According to police, there was a significant delay in getting help for the child and that is part of the reason for the child neglect charge.

The medical examiner has not released an official cause of death, but police said, based on injuries they say, it’s likely the child died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Police are continuing their investigation.
