Work on Grove Regional Airport's new terminal building is done and this week, local officials were on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The approximately 4,400-square-foot building will feature a manager's office, a large foyer with vaulted ceilings and a large waiting room.

The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission gave the City of Grove a $500,000 grant to build the new terminal.  The city provided another $500,000 and also paid for a new road leading up to the terminal as well as the parking areas.

Officials say along with a jet-capable runway, the addition of the new terminal building is a plus for the city and the region.

State Senator Wayne Shaw and State Representative Doug Cox, both Grove residents are enthused about the new building.

“It’s a great time to be living in Grove as the community and the airport continue to grow and prosper,” Senator Shaw said.

“Take it from someone who has flown to many general aviation airports over the years. This new terminal building ranks as one of the best I have seen – period. It is a gem of a facility, and I personally am looking forward to taking advantage of its many amenities,” said Representative Doug Cox.
