The airlines are promising to do more to help move passengers through packed airports. This comes as the TSA comes under fire for long security lines.
Steps are being taken to make things easier for travelers. An airline industry group says some passengers are waiting more than two hours at some U.S. airports. That's why American Airlines is investing $4 million to hire contractors to help passengers get to the TSA checkpoint faster.
Last week, Congress approved $34 million to hire additional TSA officers, but the head of the House Homeland Security committee says it's not enough.
He's introducing legislation to make the TSA more efficient.
"This is a crisis, and it demands a Congress act, and that's what I intend to do," said Rep. Michael McCaul, House Homeland Security Chairman.
Industry analysts predict more passengers will fly this summer, up to 95,000 extra fliers per day compared to last year.
