Family Fights For Justice After Lexington Teen Dies At House Party

A Lexington family is anxiously waiting the sentencing of the woman who police say threw a party where their teenage son died.

Nick Faught, 15, was found unresponsive in the bathroom during a house party in Lexington in March 2015. Ethanol poisoning was ruled the cause of death for the Lexington High School Freshman.

Police say Tonya Moss and Justin Moore supplied alcohol for the teens at the party and the two were arrested.

Moss will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Cleveland County. Moore’s next court date is in late July.

“It’s hard for us to think that someone can be so negligent and not at least checked on him,” said Nick’s uncle, Joe Faught.

Faught says Moss even left the home after Nick was found, out of fear that she would be arrested when police arrived.

“I hope justice is served. I hope she spends time thinking about what happened,” said Faught, who feels Moss needs to spend time in prison.
