A plane that’s registered in Moore, Oklahoma, has crashed near Houston, Texas, killing all three people aboard Thursday afternoon.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA,) a single-engine Cirrus SR-22 aircraft crashed shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday while trying to land at Houston Hobby Airport. The aircraft came to rest in the parking lot of a business in the 6800 block of Telephone Road, less than a mile northwest of the airport.
All three aboard were killed in the crash. Authorities have not released their identities.
KHOU, the CBS affiliate in Houston, confirmed that the plane is registered to Safe Aviation, located in Moore.
The station reported that a vehicle in the parking lot was destroyed. But no one on the ground was hurt.
FAA investigators are on their way, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and all updates.
