Family and friends gathered on Lake Tenkiller’s Cookson Bend Marina for a special celebration Tuesday morning.

Millie Sullens spent the morning water skiing. It’s something she said she does every summer since 1960 when she was 34.

This one, however, was a big milestone, as Sullens took to the water at 90 years young.

"I can't believe this is happening," she said.

A small flotilla of pontoon boats and other watercraft ferried the friends and family out to watch.

Now, it's not like they've never seen it - Sullens does it all the time - but this is a bit of a milestone.

Sullens said she can name about 40 people she's taught to ski over the years, including her great, great, great nephew, 5-year-old Jensen - she taught him Monday.

The boat she was behind is the same one she learned to ski with.

Her big finish was a no-hands routine with the ski rope between her legs.

Sullens said she takes no medications, dances every Friday night and water skis all summer; maybe we all ought to learn to water ski.

She said she wants her next milestone to be 95 when she wants to do it again.
