Construction will start soon on another pedestrian bridge in Tulsa, and it's not the one that will cross the Arkansas River.
Instead, it's a pedestrian bridge over Riverside Drive that will create a direct path between the Gathering Place and the new bridge over the river.
It will be placed between the tunnels on Riverside Drive and built to match the new river bridge; the City of Tulsa is paying for it.
Gathering Place Project Manager Jeff Stava said, "They've awarded that contract to Crossland Heavy, and that work should get started in the next 90 days, so that's pretty exciting."
The low bid on the project was just over $1.3 million.
