A man accused of targeting a young girl is taken down by a Del City family. According to police, the father put together his own operation, which led to a citizen’s arrest of a child predator.

Jeremy Dewayne Gibson, 33, was allegedly messaging a 15-year-old girl inappropriately. The police report shows the two “had talked about meeting up and having sex.” They made arrangements to meet in “her back yard in a tent.”

With a parental control application on his cell phone, the girl’s father noticed she downloaded an unauthorized app. He then saw she was messaging Gibson on her phone and viewed the conversation.

The concerned dad immediately made a report with the Del City Police Department, but didn’t want any more danger to happen to his child. He made sure Gibson was still coming for the meet.

Instead of meeting the girl, Gibson was tackled by multiple family members, what is caught on surveillance.

Gibson was not injured or harmed. His hands and feet were zip-tied until police got there to arrest him. Gibson has since bonded out of the Oklahoma County Jail.

“I feel like it’s a parent’s right to do whatever they need to do to protect their children," Major Jody Suit with the Del City Police Department said.

Suit said Gibson claimed he was going to the tent to talk to the girl, but was found with a condom.

The case is not over yet. Police believe the teen was also talking to another child predator in the New York area and are working to make another arrest.
