Crews Respond To Spirit AeroSystems Equipment Fire

Tulsa fire crews responded to an equipment fire at Spirit AeroSystems Wednesday afternoon. 

The Tulsa Fire Department said a machine in the building caught fire around 2 p.m.

Crews were able to put the fire out shortly after arriving. 

They said an employee tried to use a fire extinguisher and accidentally inhaled some of the chemical. Firefighters said the employee is being checked out and is expected to be okay. 

Firefighters said the piece of equipment probably caught fire because of a broken hydraulic line.
