Police say the gunman who allegedly shot a man in the head Wednesday morning is back in Tulsa and in jail.
47-year-old Terry Markham was arrested Thursday in Tahlequah for shooting and killing 33-year-old Cedric Cotton outside the QuikTrip at 11th and Garnett.
Sergeant Darren Bristow said this was not a random crime and the gunman was following the victim leading up to the shooting.
"When he noticed they were walking back toward their vehicle, he circled around, stopped briefly behind their vehicle, then, he circles around and points the front of his vehicle to the passenger side of their vehicle," Bristow said.
This is Tulsa’s 31st homicide of the year.

Tulsa police are narrowing down their search for the gunman who murdered Lenaryd Tillis. Tillis is the victim in Tulsa's second deadly shooting in just two days.
The shots were fired in the parking lot at MLK and Virgin. At least 15 shots fired with children playing across the street, and other witnesses nearby. Philip Abode runs the Crossover Prep Academy and coaches the football team. He said they were finishing practice at the Burroughs Elementary School field when the coaches and players heard gunfire.
"Some of the kids took off running behind the school. Most of the kids and coaches just laid down on the ground as it all played out," said Abode.
"It looked like a war zone out there. There were a lot of rounds laying around," said TPD Sgt. Brandon Watkins.
Police say the victim Lenaryd Tillis was familiar from his previous arrests, but they don't know who shot him or why.
“We're still piecing things together and this one is a genuine jigsaw puzzle and it's getting clearer every minute, but right now it's hard to say with any certainty what led to it,” said Watkins.
