Students at Justus-Tiawah Schools in Claremore learned about jobs in criminal justice on Tuesday.
The kids got to hear from police officers, state troopers, and District Attorney Matt Ballard during the school’s Law Enforcement Day.
Several dogs that work in law enforcement were also at the event, including a bomb-sniffing dog and courthouse therapy dogs – Jerzy Girl and Sugar Bear.
School leaders say this event is a fun way for kids to learn about possible careers in law enforcement.
“Like, today they brought out a robot, kind of a bomb-detecting robot, and they brought out several dogs, therapy dogs from the courthouse and there’s a bomb-sniffing dog out there,” said Justus-Tiawah Superintendent Ed Crun. “Some of those things gets them a little excited.”
The school says this is the third year for the event.
