Pawnee County Emergency Management Director Mike Randell has bonded out of jail after he was accused of impersonating a police officer. Randell denies the charge.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents were asked to investigate Mike Randell, 44, in January after the Pawnee County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol received allegations against Randell.

A misdemeanor warrant was issued for Randell on November 20 for impersonating a public officer and arresting without authority.

Pawnee County Emergency Manager Charged With Impersonating Officer

OSBI said on several occasions from April 2015 to January 2018, Randell responded to emergency calls for service, made a traffic stop and made an arrest while having an appearance that would lead a person to think he was a police officer.

Randell told News On 6 that he wears a badge and gun every day, but the badge says emergency management director - not police officer. He said he has never identified himself as a police officer, and it is an unfortunate situation for everyone involved.

Randell said he has worked for the county since 2011, and that the accusations are the result of an ongoing situation with the sheriff's office.
