2019 will start with some major road construction across Tulsa.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says on Wednesday, January 2nd, crews will start working on the south leg of the Inner-Dispersal Loop.
ODOT says the work will include several on- and off-ramps connected to the loop around the downtown area. It says drivers can expect significant delays during the construction, which could last more than a year.
Starting Monday, January 7th, road work will begin on eight bridges on Highway 11 in Tulsa.
ODOT says the work is on bridges at I-244, Pine Street and Memorial Drive. Officials say it's a good idea to leave earlier when heading to Tulsa International Airport via Highway 11.
This project is expected to be finished in early 2020.
And still another project will impact drivers in Bixby.
Starting in January, construction crews will be working on the Memorial Drive bridge over the Arkansas River.
Officials say the bridge won't close completely, but will go down to one lane in each direction for several months.
