Emergency crews were called to the scene of a house fire that broke out on the southwest side of the metro Friday morning.
According to officials, the blaze started in an addition in the back of the house just before 3:30 a.m. near Southwest 59th and Blackwelder.
Two people were asleep at the time the blaze broke out and one person attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher, but was unsuccessful.
Authorities transported the victims to a hospital.
Oklahoma City Fire said that five cats were killed in the fire.
Investigators said the fire started when a lamp was knocked over near the couch.
The estimated damage is about $60,000.
