Eight people have died in connection to a large house fire in Broken Arrow on Thursday, police said.
Police have not confirmed the identities of the victims at this time but said a family of eight, including six children, live in the home.
The victims were found inside a house in the 400 block of S Hickory Ave, police said.
Neighbors called the fire in to police around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon, said police.
Police said it is a complex scene given the state of the house due to the fire damage.
The ATF is on scene assisting with the investigation.
Police are treating this as a homicide investigation, but they have not released additional details.
“Broken Arrow stands together. We will mourn together, and in the end we will heal together. Please pray for for those who have lost their lives, and for our first responders who are dealing with a tragedy of this magnitude. My staff and I, as well as the Fire Chief and his staff, will have more information tomorrow,” Broken Arrow Police Chief Berryhill said in a statement on Thursday night.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
