Oklahoma City is facing its coldest temperatures of the season as an Arctic front pushes through, bringing freezing rain, gusty winds, and dangerous wind chills.
After a relatively mild Saturday with temperatures in the 50s and near 60, Sunday brought a dramatic shift, ushering in Arctic air that has sent temperatures plunging.
As of this morning, we’ve been below freezing for 24 hours—and we may not climb above freezing until Thursday.
What is the weather like on Monday?
Today is shaping up to be another bitterly cold day across the region.
Morning temperatures in Oklahoma City are starting at 12 degrees, with wind chills as low as -4.
Many areas across northern and western Oklahoma are even colder, with wind chills dipping below zero.
By this afternoon, temperatures will reach a high of 29 degrees but remain below freezing.
Wind chills will continue to make it feel much colder, hovering between 0 and 20 degrees throughout the day.
Winds will lighten slightly compared to yesterday but will still add an extra chill to the air.
If you’re heading out today, bundle up in layers, cover exposed skin, and limit time outdoors if possible.
This is pipe-busting weather, so take precautions to protect your home and vehicles from the deep freeze.
What is the weather like this week?

Significant snowfall is possible Thursday into Friday, so stay tuned for updates.
In the meantime, prepare for more frigid days ahead, with temperatures remaining below freezing through Thursday.
A slight warm-up is expected next week, with highs climbing into the 40s.
