Two people were killed in a crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 44 near Catoosa, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

According to OHP, the crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. along eastbound I-44 near 177th East Avenue. Following the crash, OHP has closed all eastbound lanes of I-44 in the area while investigators remain on scene.

Michael Cisco, with Cisco Containers, sent surveillance video to News On 6 showing the moment of the crash. In the video, a UPS truck carrying three trailers appears to be stopped on the interstate. Around the 17-second mark of the video, the second semi-truck can be seen crashing directly into the back of the first truck. A huge explosion then engulfs the second truck. The video is attached above.

At least three lanes appear to still be closed as of noon, but some traffic is being allowed to pass by.

The UPS truck was ripped open and spilled a large amount of packages and other contents. The other vehicle caught fire as a result of the crash and is mostly burnt out. As of 6:30 a.m., firefighters have put out that fire but the smoke can still be seen pouring out of the trailer. The inside of the burned vehicle is too hot to move, but crews are working to move it when they can.

No names have been released at this time. Drivers should seek an alternate route.
