Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States at 11 a.m. CST on Monday.
This ceremony took place inside the Capitol for the first time in 40 years. Due to concerns about freezing temperatures and strong winds, Trump moved the inauguration to the Capitol Rotunda.
His inaugural speech began shortly after 11:10 a.m. and spoke about rolling back Democratic policies on immigration, energy, trade, and the federal workforce. He concluded by highlighting a vision of America as a "free, sovereign, and independent" nation.
