Erick Payne

Erick Payne joined News On 6 in 2019. Erick is a native of Broken Arrow and he graduated from the University of Oklahoma after majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in political science. While there, he worked for OU Nightly in several roles, including senior producer, anchor, and state capitol reporter. Erick also served as an ambassador for Gaylord College and as president of Oklahoma College Broadcasters.

Before joining News On 6, Erick worked as a weekend anchor and reporter for the CBS affiliate in Champaign, Ill. He interned for Oklahoma Watch and reported from the White House and U.S. Capitol for Scripps Howard Foundation Wire. He also interned at News On 6.

Erick is a semi-professional pasta chef, a space and airplane enthusiast, and a B- comedian.
