Lisa Monahan is an award-winning journalist, born and raised in Oklahoma City, and thrilled to be working for the news station she grew up watching.
She currently anchors at Noon and files special reports for News9.
With more than 20 years in OKC ‘s media, Lisa has developed a reputation for being tough but fair, which is especially noteworthy, given that most of her reporting is on criminal justice.
In her relentless pursuit of the truth, Lisa has earned 9 Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow, but for Lisa, the real victory is influencing change.
Her investigative reporting has led to significant changes in state law over the years, including closing a loophole that allowed teachers to repeatedly get away with inappropriate relationships with students.
Whether uncovering corruption or unearthing evidence in cold cases, Lisa is dedicated to making a difference. She is also a licensed private investigator for Oklahoma’s Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET), enhancing her ability to assist the families of crime victims. Her approach is both compassionate and rigorous, ensuring that every story she tells gives a voice to those who need it most.
When she’s not chasing the big stories, Lisa cherishes time with her husband, Philip, and their daughter. She is also an avid photographer with a passion for world travel.
